Remote Education Provision
At Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Nursery and Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child continues to learn, thrive, and feel connected to our school community, even when learning cannot take place on site.
- Access to Learning: Lessons, resources, and activities will be provided through Class Dojo and Microsoft Teams following a timetable that reflects the normal school day as closely as possible.
- Curriculum: We will continue to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, including daily English and Maths, alongside foundation subjects, creative tasks, and opportunities for physical activity.
- Support for children: Teachers will provide clear instructions, regular feedback, and opportunities for pupils to ask questions. Additional support will be available for children with specific needs.
- Communication with Families: Parents and carers will receive regular updates and guidance to support learning at home. Our staff are here to help with both academic and technical issues.
- Wellbeing: We recognise the importance of maintaining social connection and emotional wellbeing. Activities to support positive mental health and opportunities for virtual interaction will be included.
Our aim is to provide high-quality remote education that keeps children motivated, supported, and progressing in their learning.
Provision being ready for children to access as soon as reasonably practicable, though in proportion to the length of absence and expected disruption to education.
Term Time Holidays
School will not provide learning activities while children are away on holiday (during term time). We feel this does not benefit the child as there is no teacher input.
Illness
If a child is ill, our priority is their recovery. We therefore will not set work that we expect them to complete for a typical illness. Should there be a long-term illness or a sustained period away from school due to medical advice, school will provide a structured and accessible curriculum offer that matches what is being taught in class.
